The Valuers Bill 2022 had the intention of repealing the Valuers Act, Cap 532 which was enacted in 1984 and replacing it with an Act which was aligned to modern valuation practices and the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
The Bill was tabled before the National Assembly before the 2022 General Elections. The Bill was not reintroduced before the 13th parliament and it therefore expired in line with the National Assembly Standing Order 141(4).
We do note that there is a The National Rating Bill, 2022 which seeks to provide a framework for inter alia, the valuation of rateable property and the imposition of rates by county governments.
